Summer Reading 2024
“What an AMAZING Summer Reading Program! We had loads of fun with more than 170 students signed up for the program. Along with the reading competition, we had special events throughout June and July. Some of the highlights included the Peru Circus, fire safety day with the Walton Community Volunteer Fire Department and Logansport Fire Department providing trucks and a Smoke House, a petting zoo, as well as our first-ever Foam Party. The Walton Library, courtesy of the Friends of the Library, provided free tacos and drinks from Fire Pizza on fire safety day and Hometown Pizza served up our pizzas for awards day.”
Loads of Fun at the Library!
The Walton Library’s youth patrons enjoyed an afternoon of fun during the February “Magic Tree House” event. They discussed the first book in the series, “Dinosaurs Before Dark,” that follows siblings, Jack and Annie, on their magical adventures. This excursion landed in the Cretaceous Period, where kids studied dinosaurs and created fossils made of a flour-salt mold.
