In November, the Walton Library will be closed on Nov. 11th in honor of Veterans’ Day as well as Nov. 27th and Nov. 28th for Thanksgiving.

Children's Book Week and Fall Reading

Join us now for Fall Reading and our upcoming Dog Man week!

November 3-9 is Children’s Book Week. We will be celebrating by hosting weeklong events associated with Dog Man, Captain Underpants, Cat Kid, and more books by author, Dav Pilkey. Sign up for our free hot dog lunch, which will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8th in the Community Room. Games and prizes will be awarded on this Saturday as well.

Then, we will host our annual Fall Reading Program from Nov. 18-26. The event is geared for children aged pre-K through 12th-grade. Stop by the circulation desk or the Children’s department for more information. We have prizes that will be awarded for participants who complete each reading level task.

MEET AUTHOR, MEG HAMAND

Meg Hamand is the author of the bestselling and award-winning Diamonds in Auschwitz, “a significant contribution to Holocaust literature” according to Readers’ Favorite. Meg has had a heart for storytelling since her first publication – a poem in a small anthology – was published in elementary school.

She graduated summa cum laude from Indiana State University with a degree in English and minor in creative writing. She has an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan. She lives in Plymouth, Indiana with her husband/high-school sweetheart and their 14-year-old daughter (also an aspiring artist).

This & That Sale

Are you a craftsman or a craftswoman? Do you like creating things for people, whether a blanket or a T-shirt, whether a rocker or a wooden train? Do you like to sell your goods at Farmers’ Markets?

Well, if you answered ‘yes’ to any of those questions, then the This & That Sale is just for you. Vendors are encouarged to participate in the Walton Public Library’s annual craft sale. People are invited to look around and make purchases between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22nd.

Vendors must sign up to participate. This includes filling out a form, which you may pick up at the library or download from our site under the “About Us” tab and then the “Policies & Procedures” tab, which will take you to the “This & That Sale” form. Forms must be returned to the library by 3 p.m. Nov. 14th.
